Changes are in the wind for the Olds Lacrosse Association (OLA). Sally Dolinski, who has served as the association's president for three years, is stepping down.

The Olds tykes lacrosse team had an incredible May long weekend. They went undefeated (3-0) in the round robin of a tournament in Leduc, ending up in the gold medal final against the Calgary Axemen. That final was a classic.

The peewee Olds Stingers came oh so close to winning gold. They settled for silver after being edged 5-4 by the Edmonton Wizards in the final of the Tradition Lives lacrosse tournament, held May 18-20 in Red Deer.

Local throwing athlete Haylin Eling and her coach Rachel Andres managed to do well during the Chinook Throws Gala in Lethbridge despite some pretty awful weather. The event was held May 17-19.

It was a strong performance for Olds track athletes during the Senior High Zones, held in Calgary on May 22. Grade 10 thrower Haylin Eling advanced to Provincials in shotput with a second-place throw of 11.

INNISFAIL - The Birds of Innisfail are vowing to play on despite the sudden shocking folding of the Allan Cup champion Lacombe Generals. "We are perfectly fine. We never paid our players," said Ryan Dodd , the general manager of the Innisfail Eagles.
