The École Olds High School senior high track and field team placed 12th out of 53 3A high schools during the Provincials, held June 7-8 in Calgary.

The 2019 season was a daunting one for the Junior B Tier II Olds Stingers. By the time the season ended this past Sunday, June 16, their record was 1-16. Head coach Laine Foshaug says that's not due to a lack of talent or effort.

A couple of Sundre High School students recently won medals in track and field events, while several others placed among the province’s top 10.

Olds track coach and throwing athlete Rachel Andres has been nominated for Athletics Alberta Senior Athlete of the Year. The awards banquet takes place on June 15 in Calgary.

CARSTAIRS -- A pair of Hugh Sutherland School (HSS) students did well at the recent Alberta High School Track and Field Championships at Foothills Athletic Park in Calgary.

Members of the École Olds High School Spartans girls' rugby team are still basking in their glory after winning the school's first rugby sevens bronze medal during provincials, held May 31-June 1 in Edmonton. They downed Sturgeon 17-14.

DIDSBURY -- A number of Didsbury Aqua-Jets hit for personal bests at the team's home swim meet on Saturday at the Didsbury Aquatic Centre. Aqua-Jets president and meet manager Monika Rosenke said the meet went very well.
