1965 – 2025

It is with deep sadness, that we announce the passing of Evan Scott Harris, who left us peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, just shy of his sixtieth birthday.

Evan was born on July 18, 1965, in Loma Linda, California. He lived most of his life in Alberta, where he built a life grounded in hard work, love for the land, and devotion to his family. Evan was a proud hobby farmer who had a special fondness for his chickens and ducks, though his farm was also home to goats, sheep, and pigs over the years.

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, brewing his own beer, tending to his garden, and spending time surrounded by the natural beauty of his land.

Evan is lovingly remembered by his mother, Britt (Ken) Saunders of Osoyoos, British Columbia, his sons, Mitchell (Ashley) Orton of Innisfail, Alberta, Erik (Desirae) Orton of Innisfail, Alberta, his daughter, Courtney (Dryden) Link of Red Deer, Alberta and his brother, Ryan (Sam) Harris of Ottawa, Ontario. He was a proud grandfather to Nikki-Lee, Emma-Paige, Jaxson, Everlee and eagerly anticipated the arrival of Baby Boy Link in October.

Evan was predeceased by his beautiful partner in life and mother to his children, Shauna Orton, as well as his brother, Brent Harris.

Evan’s quiet strength, dry wit, and deep love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In keeping with Evan’s wishes a Funeral Service will not be held. If desired, memorial donations in Evan’s honor may be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society at reddeerhospice.com.

Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.heartlandfuneralservices.com. Arrangements in care of: Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., 4415 – 49 Street, Innisfail, Alberta. Phone: 403.227.0006
