MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY – Citing recent rain and cooler temperatures in the district, Mountain View County has lifted a fire ban put in place on June 9, officials said Friday.
As of June 20, due to favourable conditions in the past week and forecasted moisture and lower temperatures which has resulted in a lower fire risk, the fire ban has been lifted in all of Mountain View County, county chief operating officer Jeff Holmes said in the release.
"The public is urged to exercise caution while burning and use precautionary measures such as screens and spark arrestors on burning barrels, cultivate areas surrounding controlled burns and have a supply of water readily available at all times," he said.
Fire permits are required year-round and can be obtained on the Mountain View County website.
