Penhold's Skyhawks junior high basketball teams opened their inaugural seasons with victories on Dec. 16 against the Innisfail Mustangs.

The Olds High School senior basketball teams swept Didsbury High School on the road on Dec. 17. Nicole Schultz led the Spartans with a team-high 13 points as the senior girls beat the Dragons 44-40.
