Following a 5-3 loss to the last-place Calgary Mustangs at the Sportsplex, Grizzlys head coach Brett Hopfe ripped his team for the disappointing performance, calling it the worst effort on the ice he's seen in years.

Olds High School's junior varsity girls basketball team finished second in its tournament held over the weekend. The Ralph Klein Centre was host to teams from 13 different schools from December 5-6.

Jesse Gordichuk made 32 saves and Colton Sheen scored two goals as the Olds Grizzlys defeated the Drumheller Dragons in a lopsided 6-0 victory at home on Dec. 2.

The Innisfail Minor Hockey Association (IMHA) season is underway for 2014-15 with more than 300 players registered in six age divisions. “This year we are close to the numbers of the last two years,” said Brett Kelly, vice-president of the IMHA.

The Olds Grizzlys have traded Dustin Gorgi, Josh Zablocki, and Alex Brewer to Grande Prairie Storm in exchange for leading scorer Jade McMullen. The trade was announced today (Monday, Dec. 1).

Backup goaltender Billy Gorn stopped 34 shots to earn his second career AJHL shutout as the Olds Grizzlys defeated the visiting Calgary Canucks 4-0 on Nov. 25. The 18 year old from Edmonton was making just his ninth appearance of the year.

More than 60 sturlers will be invading the Innisfail Curling Club ice this week for the return of the Sturling Bonspiel.
