Innisfail athlete Darius Ramrattan has been named March's Male Athlete of the Month by the Alberta Sport Development Centre -- Central.

It was the ultimate roaring game family affair at the Innisfail Curling Club. Lowell Peterman was on the ice during the evening of March 24 for the club's title games in both the mixed and men's finals.

Spring has arrived, the ice is out of the Innisfail Arena and it's time for Canada's national summer sport to get rolling.

Goal scorers Dennis Lawrence, Mitch Visser, Cole Sutherland and Ryan Klinck and goaltender Thomas Della Siega were the marquee players of the cup-winning night.

Logan and Conor Bruneau know exactly what it takes to win a championship. The two brothers recently won championship belts in the absolute division in the Submission Ace (Jiu-Jitsu) Championship in Blackfalds on Feb. 27.

Olds High School competed at the ASAA Provincial Wrestling Championship in Sherwood Park from March 11-12. The Spartans boys scored 13 points to finish second out of 17 3A schools. That was the school's 11th provincial plaque.

Olds won gold at the Atom A Provincial Championship in Lacombe from March 17-20. According to coach Ken Callow, they were motivated to make up for a loss in their league championship final.

The Innisfail Minor Hockey Association honoured its best in coaches, managers and players at its annual annual awards night at the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion.
