Olds Grizzlys players received some encouragement before their playoff run from Olds Elementary School students this past week in the form of special personalized posters. Each poster has a player's name and number on it.

The all-Olds junior B lacrosse games last season were fun while they lasted. This year, the Olds Mavericks team is moving up into the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League's Tier II.

The Olds midget A female Grizzlys team finished with silver medals at this past weekend's provincial championship, falling 3-2 in overtime to the Calgary Chaos on March 13.

The Sundre tier 3 midget Huskies found their momentum late during provincials held in Provost over the weekend. "We didn't do as well as we could have," said coach Brad Price.

Olds Koinonia Christian School's senior boys basketball team finished its season with silver medals after hosting South Central Zone's 1A championship on March 12.

The Grizzlys' 34th season came to an end on Sunday night, with a 7-2 loss in Game 3 of the team's first-round playoff series against the Camrose Kodiaks. Defenceman Austin Pickford and forward Wyatt Noskey scored a goal each.

The Grizzlys' Wyatt Noskey is this season's AJHL scoring champion. In 60 regular season games with Olds, Noskey scored 29 goals and recorded 54 assists to capture the Ernie Love Trophy.

A local team of junior curlers recently brought back a bronze medal from the Alberta Schools' Athletic Association High School Zones.

After three rounds of provincial playdowns, the Sundre atom A Huskies defeated the Carstairs Bruins on Sunday, Feb. 28 to win the Zone 6 championship banner, moving them on to provincials.
