The Broncos men's basketball team finds itself in a three-way tie for first in the ACAC South after a narrow loss to the Red Deer College Kings this weekend at the Ralph Klein Centre.

The Olds Rapids swim club has a pair of Paralympic hopefuls on its roster. Ian and Angela Lowther are from Crossfield and have been swimming with the Rapids since the fall. They have also been swimming with Special Olympics Airdrie.

Two Olds High School (OHS) Spartans curling teams have advanced to the zone playdowns, which take place Feb. 26 and 27 in Drumheller. Both teams qualified for those berths during the divisional playdowns in Carstairs.

The midget tier 3 Huskies are ready for Game 2 of provincial playdowns this Friday. Coach Brad Price said the team was the victim of bad officiating during Game 1 last Friday night in Hanna. The team lost 4-3.

Innisfail's Blake Anderson brought home a silver medal from the 2016 Alberta Winter Games. Anderson, 14, was one of three Innisfail athletes to compete for Zone 4 in the biennial event in Medicine Hat from Feb. 13 to 16.

Good time tournament adult recreational hockey is making its annual return to Innisfail this month. The annual Innisfail Rec Hockey Tournament will kick off Friday, Feb. 26 and run to Feb. 28 at the red rink of the Innisfail Arena.
