BREAKING: Sundre RCMP, SAR searching for missing 12-year-old boy

SUNDRE – Sundre RCMP is asking the public Wednesday to keep an eye out for a 12-year-old boy reported missing by his family.

RCMP received just before midnight on Tuesday, Aug. 26 a complaint from the boy’s family that lives in Sundre, Sgt. Courtney Harding said in a release issued Aug. 27.

The 12 year old was reportedly last seen leaving his residence in the area of 5th Avenue SW at approximately 6 p.m. on Aug. 26.

Police say he left home on his black and orange mountain bicycle with some cash and that it is not known where he may have gone.

“We need Sundre residents to check their yards, sheds and be on the lookout,” Harding told the Albertan.

RCMP are concerned about his safety and well-being and are asking for help from Sundre residents to keep an eye out on their properties for any sign of him or his bicycle. 

“Sundre RCMP, Sundre Search and Rescue and family are actively looking,” reads part of the sergeant’s statement.

“We appreciate any information and cooperation the public can provide us to have him returned home safely.”

He is described as: 

• 12 years old

• Vietnamese

• Vietnamese/English speaking

• 1.52-metres (5-feet) tall and weighing 54.4 kilograms (120 pounds) with an average build

• brown eyes and short brown hair

• wears glasses.

He was last seen wearing a light grey hoodie, green pants, black and white Croc shoes.
