SUNDRE – A 32-year-old woman from Sundre faces a lengthy list of charges in connection with a string of vehicle and credit card thefts in Airdrie.

Danielle Kelly was charged by Airdrie RCMP last week with 21 offences. She had 48 outstanding warrants out for her arrest, police said in a press release issued July 4 which was updated Tuesday.

Airdrie RCMP reported that members of the detachment were dispatched between June 26 and July 1 to  investigate the theft of three vehicles.

“The suspect broke into lockers at a recreational centre in Airdrie, and subsequently stole car keys and credit cards,” police said.

“The credit cards were then used fraudulently for purchases at several locations in Airdrie.”

Later on Canada Day at 1:09 p.m., Airdrie Mounties were dispatched to an unrelated call in response to a landlord and tenant issue.

During the ensuing investigation, police said Kelly was located in the subject residence and was arrested after police were able to link her as the suspect involved in the vehicle and credit card thefts.

The accused was charged with the following 21 offences as a result of six separate investigations by Airdrie RCMP:

• three counts of theft of a motor vehicle;

• one count of theft of vehicle keys;

• eight counts of breaching release conditions;

• three counts of breaching probation conditions;

• one count of credit card theft;

• four counts of unlawfully using a credit card; and,

• one count of obstructing a police officer.

Additionally, she was arrested on 48 outstanding Alberta warrants.

A judicial interim hearing was completed, and police say the accused was consequently remanded in custody.
