A local resident and his daughter are upset by the fact that vandals deliberately ran over several newly planted trees in Hartman Green Park, east and south of Ecole Olds Elementary School (EOES) playground. The damage occurred the weekend of June 9.

BOWDEN - During its June 25 meeting, Bowden town council will be looking at passing an amendment to its land use bylaw, specifically dealing with cannabis retailing and production facilities.

A public hearing will be held next month for a bylaw which could make it tougher for some Olds residents to access their garages, a councillor fears. The bylaw pertains to a proposed road closure on 57 th Street.

Columbarium rates in the Olds Cemetery have risen. During its May 28 meeting, town council passed an amendment allowing a hike in the rate due to the purchase of a second columbarium by the Olds Royal Canadian Legion branch.
