OLDS — Enrolment in the Town of Olds' Uptowne storefront beautification program was a “resounding success,” the municipality's chief administrative officer says.

A total of $20,000 in funding is available via the municipally-owned Mountain View Power. A maximum of $3,000 per allocation will be provided.

The program received at least 20 applications by the April 1 deadline.

Later in the month, Brent Williams said a committee met to go over the applications and it’s his understanding that some decisions have been made. A formal announcement on that is expected soon.

“It's great to see this getting the interest. And if we're able to hold steady or perhaps even increase this annual allocation to the improvement grant, I believe after three, five, certainly 10 years, we'll start seeing that Uptowne beautification take place,” Williams said.
