OLDS — Seasons Olds Encore Retirement Community residents and staff celebrated eight Alberta Health Services beds that have now become a permanent addition to Seasons Olds Encore.
Alberta Health Services and Seasons Olds Encore teamed up in March 2024 to provide those designated supportive living beds temporarily for patients who no longer need acute care services at Olds Hospital and Care Centre.
To celebrate the program's success and show gratitude to staff for supporting this initiative, the Seasons Olds Encore team, along with residents, families, the Mountain View Hospice Society, and Mayor Judy Dahl gathered for the Seasons Essence of Spring Soiree.
At the celebration, guests were treated to a bubbly bar with sparkling juice or champagne with fruit and canapes, including bruschetta, charcuterie, and cupcakes.
The ambiance was enhanced with a musical performance by The Cello Trio.
The afternoon was capped off with a ‘Thank You’ gift of seed packs of wildflowers representing the “growing” impact of “planting the seeds” of change.
“This partnership has made a meaningful difference, not only in easing pressure on local hospitals but also in ensuring people can recover and thrive near their loved ones," said Kirsten Mortenson, general manager of Seasons Olds Encore, was quoted as saying in a news release.
"We are truly grateful for Alberta Health Services’ continued trust in us and our team members’ hard work and dedication. It's heartwarming to gather together and celebrate our community and shared success.”
