OLDS — The Kiwanis Club of Olds is getting ready to hold its 57th annual fall auction, held in conjunction with the Olds Auction Mart/Rosehill Auction Service.

As they have ever since COVID, organizers will hold the auction online from Nov. 28-30 at oldsauction.com/rosehill-live.

“The Rosehill gang and Olds Auction Mart have always done the auction part. They’ve been very generous,” Olds Kiwanis club member Murray Elliott said during an interview with the Albertan

Elliott is helping to coordinate the auction and is in charge of publicity.

You can view auction items now.

“We have had a number of donations already,” Elliott said.

You can pick up purchased items as of noon on Dec. 1 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 105.

The club uses funds obtained from the auction to support its many projects in the community that benefit children and the community as a whole.

Some examples of projects the club has funded and/or supported include a drug alert program that won a national award, the Olds fashioned Christmas celebration, the Mountain View Emergency Shelter Society, breakfast for learners and several local sports teams.

It’s our biggest fundraiser for the year. There’s not much we don’t support,” Elliott said. “We are certainly children-centric with the Kiwanis Club of Olds.

“It’s always done well, the community has always supported it,” he added.

Elliott said those interested in donating items for the auction can phone him if they wish at 403-556-0027.

“We've got a whole group of dedicated people who can pick things up, can drop things off, whatever you need, so we encourage you to participate and hope to see you picking up some items on Dec. 1,” Elliott said.
