OLDS — Nearly $30,000 was raised during the second annual Mountain View Hospice Society golf classic, held June 12 at the Olds Golf Club.

The money will go toward supporting client services.

In its first year last year, the tournament raised just over $20,000.

This year's tournament champions were team Jordan Priebe of Desjardins, who shot a total of 50.

Runners-up were last year’s winners, team Eric Lafrance, who shot 51.

Brian Roberts won closest to the pin for the men. Connie Strautman won for the women.

Organizers described the weather as “moody,” alternating between sunny, cloudy and raining lightly.

“Not even the moody June weather could dampen our spirits. We like to think the mix of sunshine, clouds and light rain was just part of the sky’s way of showing all its emotions about such a heartwarming day,” organizers wrote on their website.
