With profound sadness, the family of Adrian Van Aert, beloved husband of Isobel Van Aert of Innisfail, announce his passing at the Innisfail Care Centre on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at the age of 83 years.

Along with his wife Isobel, Adrian will be lovingly remembered by his children: Kevin Van Aert, Darcy (Carol) Van Aert, and Marla (Trevor) Shoemaker; his seven grandchildren: Tessa Van Aert, Tanner (Laura Kaye) Van Aert, Bryce Van Aert, Cameron Van Aert, Keanna Rapin, Chloë Rapin, and Jakob Shoemaker; his four great grandchildren: Maclin Van Aert, Ryker Van Aert, Harper Van Aert, and Zeppelin Van Aert. He will also be sadly missed by his siblings: Ted, Jerry, John, Cathy, Audrey, Francisca, Annie, Corry, Bert and Joanne.

Adrian immigrated to Canada from Holland in 1950 and married Isobel in 1963. After trying his hand at ranching, Adrian began a long career in the glass industry beginning in 1965. In 1983, he founded his own company “Heartland Glass” based in Stettler. Following the sale of that company, the family relocated to Red Deer where Adrian continued working in the glass trade until setting up his business in Innisfail with “Sunset Glass”.

Adrian was very active in the community and volunteering at the Bowden Penitentiary doing bible studies for nine years. He will be fondly remembered as having played Santa Claus for a number of years and teasing the children at every opportunity. Adrian was a generous and gentle man, willing to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever needed.

A Memorial Service in honour of Adrian was held at Mountain View Funeral Home ~ Prairie View Chapel (1605 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
