1965 - 2025
In loving memory of Douglas Zachery Robinson, beloved son of Issie and Gordon Robinson of Innisfail, Alberta, who passed away June 18, 2025, at the age of 60 years.
Douglas was born in Innisfail, Alberta on February 19, 1965, the youngest of four children born to Issie and Gordon. Douglas resided his entire life on the family acreage east of Innisfail. He started and finished his school years in Innisfail first attending Innisfail’s John Wilson Elementary and then completing his high school at Innisfail Junior / Senior High School.
Douglas always had a passion for fishing, camping and collecting. He loved sharing his discoveries of “gadgets” and mechanical puzzles and radio devices and such things with his friends. He delighted in entertaining the children that visited or that were at the gatherings that he attended.
Upon graduating the special needs high school program in Innisfail (1982) Douglas attended the Olds College Transitional Employment program learning janitorial and groundskeeping skills. This led to Doug’s first job as janitor in the Innisfail Junior/Senior High School. Doug held this position for about three years. He then spent several years working with Issie in a home cleaning service that she offered. Doug then settled into a job with Pro-N2 Ltd. working for Larry Layden and his family for close to twenty-five years; up until his illness and passing. Doug very much loved having this position and looked forward to the opportunity, every day, to head over to the shop and have a place to help.
Doug was a simple and gentle man with a mind to always be of help and in service to those around him. His greatest comfort was to share in fellowship with his friends in Christ. His love for the part he had in fellowship meetings and for his responsibilities in recent years was obvious. The many who shared with Doug, along his life, were blessed by a humble, quiet example of a faithful man.
Doug leaves to mourn his loving mother, Issie Robinson; loving sister Beryl (Ralph) Knight. He will also be dearly missed by his many relatives and many friends. Doug was predeceased by his brother Gilbert Robinson; his father Gordon Robinson; and his sister Carolyn Houcher. A Funeral Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #104, Innisfail, Alberta on Friday, June 27, at 11:00 a.m. 2025 If friends so desire, Memorial Donations may be made to the Arthur J.E.
