1942 - 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Gerald Potts, who passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, at the Red Deer Hospital at the age of 82.
David was born in Wayne, Alberta, in 1942. He devoted much of his life to public service, building a long and respected career with Alberta Highways before continuing his work in the private sector. Known for his quiet strength, sharp wit, and deep sense of loyalty, Dave made a lasting impact on his colleagues, friends, and community.
He is lovingly remembered by his three children: Stephen, Brian, Patricia, 5 grandchildren Derek, Amanda, Alicia, Olivia, Annabelle and 1 great grandson Luke. Dave also leaves behind his faithful dog, Jack, who brought him years of companionship and will now reside with Stephen and his family.
In accordance with Dave’s wishes, there will be no viewing. His ashes will be placed with family in Southeast Alberta, returning him to the land he loved.
Dave will be remembered for his steady presence, his devotion to his family, and his enduring connection to the province he called home. He will be greatly missed.
