Alphonse passed away peacefully on the evening of June 9, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Gwendolyn Poirier; his brother Lawrence Ducharme; his sons and their spouses: Greg (Kathy), Mike (Helen), Steve (Pawnarat), Kim (Jane), and Richard (Jennifer); his grandchildren: Daniel, Michelle (Sebastian), Cheryl (Brandon), Jody, Chantelle (Ferenc), Marissa (Benjamin), Megan (Thomas), and Emma; and his nine great-grandchildren: Caleb, Skyler, Vincent, Mathew, Alex, Ryder, Grayson, Brooklyn, and Finnegan.
Alphonse was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Elmire, and his brother George.
He worked in the construction industry from the age of 15 until his retirement at the age of 70. Alphonse and his family moved from Seven Sisters, Manitoba in 1970 and resided in different parts of Alberta until 2021 where he spent his last 4 years in Didsbury, Alberta.

A Celebration of Alphonse’s Life was held at Mountain View Funeral Home ~ Prairie View Chapel (1605 100 Street SE, Calgary) on June 20, 2025.
