1945 – 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Karen Kristine McCulloch at the age of 79 years.

Karen was born on July 21, 1945, in Calgary, Alberta. She grew up on a farm northwest of Olds and worked for a short time as an LPN. Karen was married to Don McCulloch for twenty-seven years and raised their four children east of Innisfail.

Karen had a passion for sewing, music, gardening and countless music and dance jams across Central Alberta. To Karen’s grandchildren “Nana Jack” will always be remembered for her kind and vibrant manner.

Karen is survived by her loving children: Rhonda (Hal) Gillrie; Coreen (Derald) Baumgardt; Michelle and Garnet (Erica) along with her five grandchildren: Hailey, Tyler, Alysa, Daren and Greg. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Margaret Elliott of Red Deer, Alberta, Marilyn Elliott of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and her brother James Elliott (Serge Lussier) Calgary, Alberta as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and bountiful friends she made throughout the years.

Karen’s family would like to thank the Innisfail and Red Deer Regional Hospital for their attentive care.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Innisfail United Church on July 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, family and friends are invited to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #104, Innisfail, Alberta for a jam session in true Karen style. If friends so desire, Memorial Donations may be made in Karen’s honor to the Innisfail Drop-In Centre at P.O Box 6067, Innisfail, T4G 1S7.  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.heartlandfuneralservices.com.
