Mr William (Bill) Curtice Johnston recently passed away as a result of a fall in his garage at his home in Cranbrook BC at the age of 91.

Bill was the eldest of four children born to Adam and Mary {Curtice) Johnston. Following high school he farmed with his father acquiring more land and expanding the farm. After his parents moved to Innisfail he continued farming with his brothers and sister and brother in law. As well as family and farming he got his private pilot’s license which he held and was active flying his own airplanes (there were many) at the  Innisfail Flying Club and Cranbrook Flying Club aircraft for over fifty years. A very memorable flight he really enjoyed was flying his own single engine Piper to the North West Territories, accompanied by a good neighbour on the farm, Billy Allan, to view Virginia Falls on the South Nahanni River.

At a secretive ceremony in Jasper, Alberta he married Christy Kegg who then joined him on the farm and became part of the family farming situation. They however were divorced many years later while residing  in the Creston area of British Columbia where they had retired to. On September 24, 2004 he married Donna(Badger)Galloway at their residence in Lacombe, Alberta. His best man standing with him at the ceremony was his nephew Michael Johnston.

Bill was predeceased by his first wife Christy and by brother in law Norman Suder. Surviving him are his wife Donna in Cranbrook BC, his siblings sister Bernice Suder, brothers Don Johnston and Richard Johnston. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

As per the wishes of our Bill Johnston there will be no funeral service and he will be laid to rest in the town where he was born, Innisfail, Alberta. His final flight has landed.
