It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Boyd Dodd 82, of Olds, Alberta. Ray passed away on May 10, 2025, following a very courageous battle with cancer.
Raymond is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Beatrice of 59 years and three children, Joanne (Scott), Anita (Brad) and Les (Pam). Raymond was affectionately known as Papa, especially to his beloved grandchildren: Steven (Kayla), Michael, Maddox, Sophia and Vanessa. He is also remembered by his six siblings and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Raymond is predeceased by his parents Earl and Ruth Dodd and brother Stanely.
Raymond poured his heart into farm life. He loved being part of family events and celebrations. Family moments brought him happiness and connection throughout his life. Raymond and Bea were avid world travelers in their later years. His favorite trip was their final tour of Italy in spring 2024. He also had a lifelong passion for sports and was a dedicated Calgary Flames fan.
Raymond believed in a healthy active lifestyle and could be seen riding his bike around town and going to the Olds CLC.
The Dodd family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Mountain View Hospice Society and Seasons Encore Olds for all their care in the past few months.
