December 18, 1951 – May 13, 2025
Gary passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 73 years. Gary is lovingly remembered by his daughter Michelle & John Dupre, his son Monte Erickson, 5 Grandchildren along with brother Alan (Anna), sister Janet (Ross) Goodman, a Niece & 2 Nephews.
Gary lived most of his adult life in Olds where he became best known for his small engine repair shop which he operated for over 30 years. He was a great wealth of knowledge when it came to his repair business and made many long-lasting friendships and customers over the years. He was an avid soft ball & hockey player, car enthusiast, skier, snowmobiler, musician and a bit of an entertainer until his health made him unable to continue with many of those interests. As a friend said, he had a quirky sense of humor and always had the time to laugh and joke with his family, friends and customers who came in to his shop or visited him through out his life.
Gary was a dedicated family man who would drop what he was doing to help his family or friends. He was kind and patient and a man of his word and in return his family & friends always stood by him.
Gary was buried in the Olds Cemetery beside his Parents Edwin & Louella Conway on May 24, 2025 with good friends and Family in attendance. A Celebration of Life was held following the interment.
At this time the family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all who attended and to those who could not for your kind words & expressions of sympathy. Your support has brought us great comfort at this very sad time. We are especially thankful for the care & friendship you showed Gary through out his life. He was truly blessed to have such a wonderful circle of people around him to help him live his life to the fullest.
