It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Sims, whose time with us was far too short but whose impact will live on in our hearts forever.
Michael is survived by his pride and joy, his son Michael Walter Sims Jr., his loving parents Garry and Rosalind Sims, his sister Melanie (Trevor) nephews and their family.
Michael was deeply loved by so many. A devoted father, he found his greatest happiness in teaching, guiding, and nurturing his son. He cherished spending time in nature, especially fishing, and was well known for his gift of storytelling. Full of kindness and generosity, Michael never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He had a deep passion for sports and a true love of fair play. Whether cheering for both teams—or even the referees—Michael reminded us all that the spirit of the game mattered most.
Michael’s warmth, love, and laughter will be remembered always. Though his journey with us ended far too soon, his memory will forever be carried in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
