1936 – 2025
Mr. Clifford Norman Andersen passed away peacefully in his home at Sunset Manor on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the age of 88 years.
Carl and Katherine Andersen welcomed their first born, Clifford, on July 3, 1936, in Innisfail, Alberta. He was raised on the farm at Kevisville alongside his three younger siblings, Henning, Allen and Irene. Clifford started working on the farm with his parents where he developed a passion for heavy equipment and trucks. His early career years while living in Spruce View were spent driving a school bus for Red Deer County and wrenching on vehicles at the Spruce View Garage.
In his early thirties following the completion of his family of four children, Clifford went to SAIT and obtained his heavy-duty mechanic ticket, beginning his life-long career working on and driving heavy duty and agricultural equipment. He was an integral part of the community of Spruce View where he raised his children for sixteen years and enjoyed camping, fishing, curling and baseball, when he wasn’t hard at work or helping neighbors and friends.
In the late 70’s he moved the family to Innisfail, where he is fondly remembered in the community from his years at Cockshutt, Newman Ford, and Tri S Fertilizer. He met his life partner of thirty-three years, Marg Allen and enjoyed their years together travelling, going to countless auctions and crib tournaments, days on the farm and time with family. Over the past decade, he could be found frequenting the Senior Drop-In Centre for activities, doing crosswords or out for a drive in his beloved Ford truck. He spent his last two years under exceptional care at Sunset Manor with his friend Marg Dyer playing numerous crib games, building puzzles, and enjoying company.
He is lovingly remembered by his four children, Dale (Bonny) Andersen, Brenda (Geo) Bovey, Reg Andersen and Dwayne (Sharleen) Andersen, his grandchildren, Erin (Mike) Sharkey, Sarah (Tyson) Crossland, Rachel, Rhonda, Nicole, Kayla (Parker), Brittany, Alysa, Brandon and Karla and his nine great grandchildren as well as his sister, Irene (Ken) Wylie and family.
Clifford is predeceased by his parents Carl, Katherine and brothers, Henning and Allen. He will be remembered for his work ethic, passion for the outdoors and heavy equipment, love for his Sunday drives, quick wit and sense of humor but most of all his kind heart and being an amazing dad and papa.
If desired, Memorial Donations may be made in Clifford’s honor to the Innisfail Drop-In Centre at P.O Box 6067, Innisfail, T4G 1S7.
