Frost advisory issued Wednesday for Mountain View County, nearby urban centres

MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY – Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a frost advisory for parts of Alberta Wednesday including Mountain View and Rocky View counties, along with urban centres near them.

“Overnight lows are forecast to drop to zero or slightly below, resulting in frost tonight,” the federal agency’s 4:03 p.m. weather alert said for the affected area. “Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.”

The following were among the areas included in the May 21 frost advisory:

Mountain View Co. near Cremona, Water Valley, Olds, Didsbury, Sundre, Carstairs and Stirlingville; and

• Rocky View Co. near Airdrie, Cochrane, Crossfield, Bottrel,Madden, Bragg Creek and Tsuu T’ina.
