Fog advisory issued Tuesday for Red Deer, Mountain View counties

Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a fog advisory Tuesday morning for Red Deer and Mountain View counties along with nearby urban centres.

“Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring,” the federal agency’s 7:54 a.m. July 29 special weather statement for the areas said. “Fog has developed this morning. Reduced visibility in fog can be expected to persist until the late morning.”

The federal agency expects the fog to dissipate by Tuesday afternoon.

“Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility,” the special weather statement concluded.

Areas included in the special weather statement include:

• Mountain View County near Sundre, Cremona, Water Valley, Carstairs, Didsbury and Olds

• Red Deer County near Innisfail, Bowden Penhold, Pine Lake, Elnora, Lousana, Delburne, Spruce View, Red Lodge Provincial Park and Sylvan Lake

• Rocky View County and Clearwater County.
