Frost advisory issued Thursday for Mountain View County, nearby urban centres

May 22 overnight lows in affected areas forecast to drop to freezing resulting in frost overnight

MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY – Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a frost advisory for parts of Alberta Thursday including Mountain View and Rocky View counties, along with urban centres near them.

"Overnight lows are forecast to drop to the freezing mark tonight, resulting in frost," a 3:33 p.m. May 22 weather alert issued for the impacted area said. "Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees."

The following were among the areas in Alberta included in the May 22 frost advisory:

Mountain View Co. near Cremona, Water Valley, Olds, Didsbury, Sundre, Carstairs and Stirlingville; and

• Rocky View Co. near Airdrie, Cochrane, Crossfield, Bottrel and Madden.
