MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - A fifth Mountain View County councillor has announced plans to seek re-election in October.
As reported earlier, reeve Angela Aalbers and councillors Dwayne Fulton, Jennifer Lutz, Greg Harris and Tiffany Nixon have announced plans to seek re-election.
The nomination period for the October vote closes on Sept. 22.
Alan Miller, the first-term councillor for Division 3, says he will seek another term.
“Serving the residents and our overall county has been a rewarding experience, even though there are sometimes opposing views on issues I strive to make the best decisions that I feel benefit our residents and our county,” Miller told the Albertan.
Projects he hopes to see come to fruition in the new term include the upgrade to the Acme Road, the upgrade to 23rd Street and Rge. Rd. 20, which is a joint project between the Town of Didsbury and county that would allow the route to be designated a permanent truck route for continued access to the Mountain View Regional Waste Commission's landfill site.
“One of my main focuses for the next term is advocating on behalf of our residents to the province of Alberta for continued and hopefully an increase in funding for our infrastructure grants that are so vital to roads and the many bridges that we are tasked to look after,” he said.
Division 6 Coun. Peggy Johnson told the Albertan earlier that she has yet to decide whether to seek re-election.
