The Olds Grizzlys have acquired 18-year-old defenceman Ethan Green from the Drayton Valley Thunder in exchange for forward Jeremy Klessens, 19. Green, from Spruce Grove, is 5-9 and weighs about 185 pounds.

INNISFAIL – If there’s one thing Trevor Paré will be remembered for it was his love for hockey. The 27-year-old Innisfail man passed away earlier this month after a long, hard fought battle with Pompe disease.

The Olds Mavericks were frozen 9-2 by the Calgary Chill June 9 in Calgary. During the first period, the Mavericks made several plays that could have resulted in a goal but unfortunately, they turned up short, with the Chill scoring the lone goal.

Olds and area residents have until 4 p.m. June 30 to nominate someone to participate in the torch relay for the 2019 Canada Winter Games. The Games take place in Red Deer Feb. 15-March 3, 2019. The torch is scheduled to go through Olds Jan. 31.
