DIDSBURY - The Didsbury Dragons have found a new coach and it's someone with over 30 years of coaching experience.

The next three months or so are going to be very busy ones for former Olds resident Danielle Lappage as she prepares for -- and competes in -- some of the biggest wrestling tournaments in the world.

Olds is hosting the Peewee AA Tier 1 provincials on the diamonds at O.R. Hedges Park this Friday, Aug. 3 through Sunday, Aug. 5. The Olds team consists of 11 players, age 12-14, including one girl.

BOWDEN -- There was a new wrinkle at Bowden Daze, the 26th annual rodeo and all-around good time, which took place July 27-29 at the rodeo grounds.

lNNISFAIL – The next generation of Llewellyn water-ski champions is taking the sport to the next level.

Olds and District Special Olympics athlete Wesley Wilks is getting ready to head to the Canada Summer Games in Antigonish, N.S. The Games run July 31-Aug. 4. Wilks will be a member of Team Alberta's swim team.

INNISFAIL – Several local athletes represented zone four at the 2018 Alberta Summer Games in Grande Prairie. The four-day event took place July 19 to 22 and was open to Alberta’s young athletes.

Local throwing athlete Haylin Eling competed in the Alberta Summer Games held in Grande Prairie and placed highly in her events as well as setting new personal bests.
