Instead of having just one sculptor carving out a block of ice during this weekend’s annual WinterFest, organizers have invited several chainsaw artisans who will create unique work from wood over the course of two days.

The Sundre and District Historical Society has ramped up efforts to not only recognize and celebrate the local Métis community’s contributions, but to also record and document oral histories for generations to come.

Several sculptures have been set up westbound in the boulevard between Highway 27 and the service road, approaching the Cornerstone Arts Commons. They're part of the Bergen Rocks collection.
