Car fire north of Innisfail
A 1998 black Forester Subaru went up in smoke last Monday afternoon around 4 p.m. when travelling southbound on the QEII. Driver Samantha Westman said she noticed smoke rising from the back of her car when looking in her rear-view mirror.

Arson charge laid A 19-year-old Innisfail man has been charged with arson after a truck was set on fire on April 30 near 49 Street. Police responded to a call at approximately 11:30 p.m. that night about the fire.

Unofficial results show spike in voter turnout
Voter turnout in the Innisfail-Sylvan Lake riding jumped more than 15 per cent when compared to the 2008 provincial elections according to calculations made using the unofficial results from Elections Alberta. In 2008 voter turnout was 40.9 per cent.
