Dozens of Innisfail residents, families and participants came out today (July 27) for the town's first Soap Box Derby. The day began with registration and a pancake breakfast with races beginning at 10 a.m.

Innisfail RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 30-year-old Joshua Pepin. Pepin last spoke to his family on July 26 at about 6:45 p.m. Police need to speak with Pepin as they are concerned for his well-being.

INNISFAIL – Several local businesses recently teamed up to help out the community. Cram the Ram, a fundraiser hosted by Innisfail Chrysler, collected non-perishable food items and cash donations during a barbecue on Saturday, July 20.

INNISFAIL – Hundreds of visitors flocked to Edgar Farms for the 2019 Asparagus Festival. Last year was the first year the much loved festival returned to Edgar Farms after a three-year hiatus.

PENHOLD – Cannabliss is ready for business. Penhold's first recreational cannabis retail store will be open for business by the end of the month. A grand opening is scheduled for Aug. 1.

INNISFAIL – Staff at Innisfail High School recently paid tribute to longtime educational assistant and sports coach Jim Brittain by dedicating the school's football field in his honour.

Several Innisfail businesses, members with the Innisfail and District Chamber of Commerce, came together for a summertime barbecue fundraiser for the Innisfail and District Food Bank.

INNISFAIL – After more than 30 years in the business, local barber Cora Brodie is calling it a day. The 77-year-old Innisfail resident will cut her last head of hair on July 27. “I’ve been a barber for 33 years,” said Brodie. “I love what I do.

INNISFAIL – The races are on. The Innisfail Lions Club is hosting the town’s first soap box derby on July 27. The event takes place on 50th Street, next to the Innisfail Cemetery, and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Races begin at 10 a.m.
