Sundre resident Hayden Korethoski offers his little brother Gavin DeCoste, 6, a helping hand at the outdoor rink - which is located next to the skatepark by the Aquaplex - during the evening of Monday, Feb. 26. DeCoste, who strapped on a pair of skates only for the second time, was inspired to try out the sport after watching speed skating in the Olympics. Several others were also out enjoying a night skate at the new outdoor rink.

Taylen Lovell, 8, played last week with a horse pasture she made during the Sundre Library's weekly Lego Club. Every Tuesday afternoon following regular classes until the end of May, youths have an opportunity to drop by the library from about 3:15-4:30 p.m. Program coordinator Karen Tubb said while there has previously been a free play session, the kids are generally given a theme to consider when creating a design. Last week's challenge was to come up with an invention that makes life easier.
