SUNDRE – The Sundre and District Museum hosted on June 19 members from Otipemisiwak Métis Battle River District 3.
The event was held in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day, which this year was observed on June 21.
Bernie Ouelette from the Métis Heritage Project and his summer students provided local elementary students and guests with a very thorough education of Métis traditions, history, and culture.
Carrie Couch, the museum’s executive director, said approximately 185 people attended, including students, seniors, visitors, and local residents.
