The Bird Frieze exhibition that started July 29 at the Sundre Municipal Library is available to the public free of charge until Aug. 26. The exhibition features a variety of samples of finely crafted and detailed works of white porcelain displayed throughout the library. While offering viewers a pleasant narrative of a bird's life, the art also has an underlying and sombre message about the loss of avian habitat. There are 15 two-dimensional tiles as well as three sculptures created by Dawn Detarando and Brian McArthur, Alberta artists who live and work together at a custom-designed studio they built near Red Deer.
