Following a week in which vandals desecrated numerous war memorials across Canada, the word that a private member’s bill making such an act a criminal offence is gaining momentum in the House of Commons is extremely welcome news.

During Veterans Week, it is our duty as Canadians to honour the sacrifices and contributions of the men and women who served our country.

Regarding this issue with the train blowing its whistle and whatnot, it seems the town is divided. Perhaps a different point of view might help.

With regards to the blowing of the train whistle, it appears to me that if we had a noise bylaw with muscle behind it (which we do not have) then we could take step number one in enforcing it.
