The Rick Hansen Relay will be going through Bowden on March 1, with a community celebration at Bowden Grandview School at 1 p.m.

A 40-year-old man who killed a Calgary woman when he drove through a yield sign north of Olds in July 2011 has been fined.

Michelle Cameron-Coulter made a stop in Olds last week, spreading the message about building community.

Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills PC candidate Darcy Davis said he will push as hard as he can for the planned Highway 2/27 interchange upgrade to return to the front of Alberta Transportation's project queue.

Bowden town council voted Feb. 13 to renew its lease with the Bowden Agricultural Society for use of the ball diamonds adjacent to the agriculture grounds for a further one-year term.

Olds Historical Society chair Donna Erdman has asked Town of Olds council to financially support Mountain View Museum for a 10-month period at a cost of $30,000, which would give time for the society to reorganize itself.

Town of Olds council approved proposed changes to three speed zones at its regular council meeting on Feb. 13. The school zones on 54 Street and 57 Avenue will be closed, with the speed limit changing from 30 km/h to 50 km/h.

The generosity of the late Chic and Billie Miller lives on through their endowment fund.

A community celebration marking the Rick Hansen Relay will be taking place Wednesday, Feb. 29 at the Olds Cow Palace. The celebration will begin at about 5:30 p.m. after the relay winds its way through Olds.
