October is Canadian Library Month and Parkland Regional Library (PRL) is celebrating that fact.

Olds Search and Rescue (OSAR) members are trained even better than before after they – and people from across the province -- attended a Search and Rescue Basics Train the Trainer course in Olds.

Old-fashioned-style street lights – part of the Uptowne Olds renewal project – are expected to arrive this week and the goal is to put them together and install them October 14 or 15. That's the word from Olds chief operating officer Scott Chant.

It didn't take long for the Olds Aquatic Centre to reopen after a mechanical problem forced its closure Saturday. The facility was closed Saturday afternoon after a pump that circulates water to prevent stagnation in the big pool failed.

A 24-year-old female driver has been charged with careless driving after a collision on Highway 2A and Twp. Rd. 324 claimed the life of a 52-year-old male motorcyclist on Sept. 19. No further charges are expected.
