Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that caused an estimated $40,000 damage to an Olds home on Sunday, May 8. Olds firefighters were called to a home in the 4700 block of 48 Street at 11:22 p.m.

The third of three platoons of firefighters from Mountain View County is expected to head to Fort McMurray to fight wildfires there today (Tuesday, May 10). They're expected to arrive home this Friday, May 13.

The Olds and District Hospice Society's fifth annual Hike for Hospice was a great success, according to ODHS vice-president Kathy Kemmere. Kemmere says close to 180 people participated, well above the usual 120 participants.
