The Olds Hospital Ladies Auxiliary (OHLA) has been chosen to plant one of 150 gardens that will be planted across the country this year to help celebrate Canada's 150th birthday in 2017.

The building in Uptowne which formerly housed The Brick furniture store is about to become a church on a temporary basis.

Olds & District Chamber of Commerce president Stephen Dodwell says the feedback he's received from businesses about the Tour of Alberta bike race leg that ended in Olds Sept. 2 has been positive overall, with a few frustrations expressed.

The Yuk Yuks stand-up comedy tour is coming to Olds this Saturday, Sept. 24, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the local chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Town of Olds chief administrative officer (CAO) Norm McInnis is about to become the CAO in Fernie, B.C. McInnis has held the top position in the town's public service for eight years. His last day on the job will be Oct. 28.
