A Mexican woman who attended Olds College in an exchange program chose to look at the positive side of the difference in climate between her country and ours.

Olds College has hired Joy Agnew as its director of applied research, Centre of Innovation.

At least 120 vehicles, ranging from giant trucks to small cars, drove in a convoy from Innisfail to Olds on Saturday, Jan. 26, supporting the oil and gas industry and calling for pipelines to be built.

The Olds Municipal Library is once again competing for the title of Alberta’s most ‘readerly’ town. Jan. 25 is Family Literacy Day. Library staff are urging Olds residents to read for at least 15 minutes on that day during the Read For 15 Challenge.

BOWDEN - Town councillors in Bowden have passed a snow clearing policy. The policy, discussed during council's Jan. 14 meeting, became effective as of that date.

On Jan. 17, just after noon, Olds RCMP responded to a report that a semi trailer had jack-knifed in the southbound lanes of Highway 2 just south of the Highway 27 overpass. No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were sustained.
