Starting at about 2 p.m. Thursday July 18, there were lots and lots of sirens as emergency crews raced out to Highway 2 for a report of a multiple-vehicle collision.

Olds firefighters are urging drivers to be more careful as they deal with increased traffic during the summer.

The Town of Olds is doing well when it comes to the issuance of building permits, development officer Carey Keleman says. Keleman made that statement during the July 18 Municipal Planning Commission meeting.

BOWDEN — Municipal politicians in B.C. and elsewhere are not as opposed to pipelines as the news media suggest, according to town councillor Paul Webb.

Two retirement facilities in Olds have donated a total of $4,000 and collected more than 150 cans of food and other non-perishable items for the Mountain View Food Bank.

BOWDEN — Greg Skotheim, Bowden's chief administrative officer (CAO), is the town's new director of emergency management (DEM). Skotheim made that suggestion and council ratified it during its June 24 meeting.
