The annual Terry Fox Run in Olds, which raises money for cancer research, takes place this Sunday, Sept. 15. There are a couple of changes this year, organizer Noel D'arcy says. For one thing, the start and finish has changed.

Olds hairstylist Lee Cenaiko of Zebedeez Hair Design is once again competing in the OMC HairWorld Competitions in Paris, France. This year's edition will be held Sept 15 and 16.

The Olds College Alumni Centre was filled Saturday, Sept. 7 for the fourth annual Conversation Has To Happen...again conference for those affected by suicide and depression.

Vehicle thefts in Olds to the end of August are up 21 per cent, compared to the same period last year, according to Olds RCMP. Thirteen had been stolen in town from Aug. 6 to Sept. 6.

Today (Sept. 4) and tomorrow, Hildebrand Motors and Staples in Olds are holding what they hope will be an annual fundraiser to help needy families in the area obtain much-needed school supplies. The event takes place on both days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.

Olds now has an official mascot. Oliver Olds, a little grey owl so named because he is "all over Olds," was officially declared the town's mascot during council's Aug. 26 meeting.

When he was as young as five years old, Tyson Colleton of Caroline was fascinated with knives, swords, axes and guns, and as he grew older, that fascination evolved into a hobby making knives and rebuilding guns.
