1944 - 2025
Norma Jean Muzychka (Robertson) was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia on February 14, 1944 and passed away peacefully in Olds on June 5, 2025.
Her family moved from Moncton, New Brunswick to 14th Avenue SW Calgary when Norma was 7 years old. Norma met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Muzychka at Western Canada High School, graduating in 1962 and marrying in 1965. Their young family moved to Olds, Alberta in 1973.
Norma is survived by her caring husband Bob, her sons Michael (Lisa Dobush), Scott (Jackie Ford) and Brett (Donna); and her beloved grandchildren Paige Bumstead (Andrew), Ethan, Jaycee (Evan McKinlay), Shayna, Blake, Zoe and Izabella. She will also be greatly missed by her sweet sister Beverley Burkhardt (Phoenix, Arizona) and amazing sister-in-law Sheila Muzychka (Red Deer). Always close despite the distance, Beverley’s children Shawn, Todd (Laurie) and Kimmie (Todd); grandchildren Jessica,Trever (Jamie), Lauren, Kayla and Brayden; and great granddaughter Claire. Friends and community were a love in Norma’s life in Olds, Sylvan Lake, and on her many trips with family and friends to San Diego, Las Vegas, Maui, and Phoenix.
Norma is predeceased by her parents Ethan (Robbie) and Marguerite (Peggy) Robertson, her mother-in-law Agnes Muzychka, her sister-in-law Verna Furnald, and her great nephew Ryan Burkhardt.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Olds Hospital Foundation or STARS.
A Celebration of Life for Norma will be held at the Olds Legion on July 25, 2025 at 2pm.
