DIDSBURY - The Didsbury Lacrosse Association (DLA) held a try-it night last week to give potential players a chance to try out the game.

INNISFAIL – Several Innisfail minor hockey teams earned their way to the provincial championships this season. And two of them, the Atom A DQ Flyers and the Bantam A Fourlane Flyers, brought home silver medals.

INNISFAIL – For 54 years the Innisfail Skating Club has been wowing crowds with its year-end showcase. This year’s annual event Shining Stars included close to 60 local skaters of all ages and levels.

CARSTAIRS - They may be the best hockey playing sisters in the area, Pound for Pound.

CARSTAIRS - The Carstairs Community Curling Club hosted the junior curling bonspiel this past weekend.

The Olds Grizzlys peewee female hockey team are provincial champions. They defeated the host Medicine Hat Wildcats 2-1 in the gold medal final. The Grizzlys outshot the Wildcats 40-18.

The Olds Koinonia Christian School senior boys' basketball team has just finished an incredible 2017-18 season. They won their second senior boys' provincial title and the first one in 22 years (OKCS also won it back in 1996).

DIDSBURY - The Didsbury Atom A Ramblers returned from the recent Atom B provincial championships in Beaverlodge as provincial champions. The Ramblers, who went a perfect 5-0 in the tournament, were led by 20 goals from top scorer Sawyer Campbell.

Three members of the Olds Gymnastics Club (OGC) are competing in the provincials, which take place in Red Deer, April 13-15.

The annual Olds Open Bonspiel attracted 24 teams, up from 22 last year, according to Jeff Miller, one of the event's organizers. The spiel took place March 16-18 at the Olds Curling Rink.
