The latest A & W Olds College male and female athletes of the week have been announced. Brendan Klassen of the men's soccer team and Kassidy Kelly of the women's soccer team were given the honour for the week of Sept. 16-22.

The Sundre High School Scorpions boys' and girls’ senior volleyball squads recently got back on the court. “Both teams are doing very well so far this season,” said Ashley Bellamy, the school’s athletic director.

A Caribbean champion has joined the Olds College Broncos badminton team. Student-athlete Priyanna Ramdhani is from Georgetown, Guyana. She's studying sports management at Olds College. Ramdhani was asked why she chose to play for the Broncos.

The Olds College Broncos badminton coaching staff has been busy over the last six months with retention and recruitment as the program reaches a state of stability that it hasn’t had in recent years.

Former Olds resident Danielle Lappage battled hard in the 68-kilogram class during the World Wrestling Championships last week but in the end, was unable to get past the quarter-finals. The championships were held Sept. 14-22 in Kazakhstan.
