OLDS — The Olds College Broncos women’s basketball team tied an Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) single-game record with 17 three-pointers as they defeated the Red Deer College (RDC) Queens 100-64 on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Ralph Klein Centre.

The match was an Olds College appreciation game.

The Broncos jumped out to a 10-0 lead and took a 58-28 lead into halftime, with Brandi Thibeaux having a game high 17 points.

The Pit Barbecue Player of the Game for the Broncos was Brandi Thibeaux with a game high 33 points, seven assists and eight rebounds. The player of the game for RDC was Lauren Cardinal with a team high 18 points and four rebounds.

The Broncos led the game in rebounds 35-25, assists 24-14, as well as steals and blocks 1-0. Along with Brandi Thibeaux’s game leading stats, Brittney Thibeaux had the lone steal for Olds and Michaela Allen-Gullion had the lone block for the Broncos.

The Broncos host Briercrest College Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
