Olds Grizzlys obtain 20-year-old defenceman in trade

OLDS — The Olds Grizzlys have obtained 20-year-old defenceman Andrew Thompson from the Nepean Raiders of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) in return for a player development fee (PDF).

A PDF is the perceived value of a player.

The trade was announced Thursday evening by Kevin Watson, the Grizzlys’ manager of business operations.

The left shooting Thompson had a goal and four points in 18 games with Gatineau in the Quebec Junior Hockey League (QJHL).

He also obtained a goal and three points in 20 games with Nepean last season.

Thompson, who is from Oshawa, Ont., is expected at Grizzlys training camp later this month.
